The Parents council provides an invaluable support for the school. They are involved in a number of activities throughout the year such as the Christmas Draw and the Shamrocks for St Patrick’s Day. It provides funds for the school’s gymnastics programme on an annual basis, a programme that every child has access to and greatly benefits from.
In 2009 the Parents Council provided funds for resource readers for the senior classes.
Last year they funded one of the school’s new interactive whiteboards. A promethean board was installed in third class. It has added a whole new dimension to the class room.
Funding is not the only resonpsibility of the parents Council. Every year they organise a party for both the first communnion classes and the confirmation classes. Their help on the school sports day is very much appreciated. Parents also helped out with Open Day and more recently with putting new stencils on the school yard.
If anyone is interested in joining the parents’ council please leave your name with the office. If you don’t want to commit to the parents’ council but are willing to help occasionally, your time support would be welcomed.
